I was good at academics, so the decisions in my life were pretty simple and straightforward. Being quite confident that I would get into the best junior college in my town in the first round, I never considered any other option. I loved psychology since childhood, but engineering was the safest choice. Being born into a middle-class family, thinking of risking your career to pursue the medical field was not sensible. I grew up hearing ‘Only doctors’ children can afford that field’ and eventually ended up believing it. No one around me believed in taking risks. Everyone valued security. I grew up doing the same.
